WHAT IS THE BERLIN COMMONS?
The Berlin Commons is a donations-based community green space for outdoor dining and special events based right in the heart of downtown Berlin, Maryland. Special events are held on the weekends. It is owned by Brett and Megan Hines and The Buzz Meadery.
We are currently working toward building a permanent food service facility at this building, with limited indoor seating and potentially additional outdoor seating. At this point, we are working through the permitting process with the Town of Berlin. We anticipate beginning construction in 2024.

Your donation goes directly to help maintain this green space, so it can remain beautiful for years to come. Maintenance includes landscaping, utilities, taxes, temporary restrooms for special events, and labor for upkeep. We appreciate your support!

WHEN DOES THE COMMONS OPEN?
We are NOW OPEN!
Is the commons open 24/7?
No. The Berlin Commons will only be open from sunrise to sunset everyday with exception to special events that will end by 9pm.
IS PARKING available?
Yes! There are 4 parking spaces. First come, first serve.
WILL THERE BE EVENTS?
Yes! We are currently working on special events on the weekend including art shows, live (non-amplified) music, mead tastings, and much more. We will also be doing scheduled events geared towards kids and families during the week.
CAN WE RENT THE BERLIN COMMONS?
We have had inquires about renting the commons for private events and weddings. We are working on a way to make that possible!
IS THERE A Bathroom?
There are no permanent bathrooms on site. There are public restrooms 500 feet away at town hall. Only at special events, including meadery events, will there be temporary restrooms.
is mead available?
Yes! The Buzz Meadery will be selling mead during designated special events.
CAN YOU BRING OUTSIDE FOOD AND DRINK?
Yes! We encourage our visitors to use the commons as a space for outdoor family dining and gathering. We ask you abide by all Town of Berlin rules with carryout food and drinks, and we recommend purchasing these from our neighboring Berlin restaurants.
No alcoholic beverages may be consumed at the Commons unless purchased from a licensed and permitted vendor on site (such as The Buzz Meadery).
HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE BERLIN COMMONS?

ARE PETS ALLOWED?
Yes! All friendly pets must be on leashes at all times while at the Commons. You are responsible for any pet waste.
ARE THERE LIGHTS AT THE COMMONS?
Yes! The Berlin Commons is accessible for all with gates and lighting at dusk. Our lighting system will turn off at 9pm.
